U18 SHOWCASE
FAQs
What is included in the U18 Showcase?
1 game consisting of a warm up and 3, 20 minute periods. The game will have 3 official referees as well as a time keeper. The game will be available to watch on Live Barn. Each team will be provided with one coach. Each player will receive a Branch Hockey jersey and socks. There will be 15 players and 2 goalies on each team.
Who are the coaches for each team?
Team Black will be coached by Tommy Sumi. Tommy played Minor Midget AAA hockey with Whitby Wildcats. He was drafted into the Ontario Hockey League by Kingston Frontenacs. He played with Bowmanville Eagles and St. Michael’s Buzzers of the OJHL. He also played for Elmira College in the NCAA. Lastly, he played professional hockey in Hungary. He is currently the Assistant Coach of the Toronto Titans U16AAA team.
Team White will be coached by Steve Farquharson. Steve played Minor Midget AAA hockey with Whitby Wildcats. He was drafted into the Ontario Hockey League by Toronto St. Michael’s Majors. He played with Toronto and Barrie Colts during his three year career in the OHL and later played at Ryerson University. He was an area scout with Barrie Colts. He has been a long time coach in the Barrie Minor Hockey Association and currently coaches his sons’ teams.
When will information be available about the 2024 U18 Showcase?
Information will be available beginning in December 2023 and applications for players will begin in January 2024. Please watch our social media at that time for more details.
